Duties and Responsibilities of a Student
A student is basically a learner. So he should have an intense interest in the pursuit of knowledge. Knowledge gives him joy and power that mould his life and help cultivate the art of living. Hence student life is called the seed time of life. Apart from earning knowledge, he should develop some qualities of head and heart. He is to form some good habits like cleanliness and discipline, punctuality, and perseverance. Again, he is to remember that he belongs to a society that claims his energy and emotion. In fact, he has lots of promises to keep. He must feel for the suffering masses. He must strive hard to mitigate their misery. Indeed, a good student is one of the hopefuls of the nation. So a student of today must make himself a citizen of tomorrow.

একজন শিক্ষার্থী মূলত একজন শিক্ষার্থী। তাই জ্ঞান সাধনায় তার তীব্র আগ্রহ থাকা উচিত। জ্ঞান তাকে আনন্দ এবং শক্তি দেয় যা তার জীবনকে গঠন করে এবং জীবনযাপনের নিপুণতা গড়ে তুলতে সাহায্য করে। তাই ছাত্রজীবনকে জীবনের বীজ সময় বলা হয়। জ্ঞান অর্জনের পাশাপাশি তার মেধা ও হৃদয়ের কিছু গুণাবলি গড়ে তোলা উচিত। তাকে পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা এবং নিয়মানুবর্তিতা, সময়ানুবর্তিতা এবং অধ্যবসায়ের মতো কিছু ভাল অভ্যাস গড়ে তুলতে হবে। আবার, তাকে মনে রাখতে হবে যে সে এমন একটি সমাজের অন্তর্গত যা তার শক্তি এবং আবেগ গুলি দাবি করে। আসলে, তাকে অনেক প্রতিশ্রুতি রক্ষা করতে হবে। তাকে অবশ্যই দুর্দশাগ্রস্ত জনগণের কষ্ট অনুভব করতে হবে। তাদের দুর্দশা লাঘব করার জন্য তাকে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হবে। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, একজন ভালো ছাত্র জাতির অন্যতম প্রত্যাশা। তাই আজকের ছাত্রকে নিজেকে আগামী দিনের নাগরিক হিসেবে গড়ে তুলতে হবে।
