Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:

You know of course that our earth is very, very old- millions and millions of years old. And for a long long time there were no men or women living in it, before the men came there were only animals, and before the animals there was a time when no kind of life existed on the earth. It is difficult to imagine this world of ours which is so full today of all kinds of animals and men, to be without them. But scientists and those who have studied and thought a great a deal about these matters tell us that there was a time when the earth was too hot for any living being to live on it.

 

ACTIVITY: 1

 

Answer the following questions in complete sentences:

(i) How old is the earth?

Ans.> Our earth is millions and millions of years old.

 

(ii) Describe the earth before man existed.

Ans.> Before the men came on the earth there were only animals.

(iii) Why was there no life on earth?

Ans.> The earth was too hot for any living being to live on it.

My Best Friend, Rekha

Rekha is my best friend. We both read in class seven. We both read in the same School named Kailash Chandra High School(H.S). Rekha always helps me to solve my home work. Her hand writing is very nice and she always encourages me to write well too. We both play together. She likes swimming and drawing. She is much similar to me in many aspects. She never argues me. I think that we will stay best friends for the rest of our lives.
